New Windows 11 Preview Build Now Available for Download

Microsoft just released a brand new Windows 11 preview build to users signed up for the Windows Insider program and whose devices are set to get Dev channel updates.

Windows 11 build 22533 includes several important changes, including a new flyout design for hardware indicators like brightness, volume, and airplane mode, as well as an choice to finally uninstall the time app if you don’t require it.

Microsoft says users are actually also allowed to look for voice access in the taskbar as well as pin it towards the taskbar or the Start menu.

Improving the widgets experience

This new build also comes with some news regarding widgets, as Microsoft says it’s resetting the rollout from the new feature introduced inside a previous build.

“We are resetting the rollout of the updated entry point for Widgets with weather around the taskbar first introduced with Build 22518. As a result, some Insiders who had this enabled might find it has reverted towards the original experience as seen in released version of Windows 11. However, our intention would be to quickly expand the rollout towards the most of Insiders in the Dev Channel,” the organization says.

Needless to say, like all the other builds, this new release also has a number of known issues, including several affecting the Settings app.

“When viewing their email list of available Wi-Fi networks, the signal strength indicators don’t reflect the correct signal strength. Settings may crash when going to System > Display > HDR. If you want to enable or disable HDR on an HDR-capable PC, you can do so while using WIN + ALT + B keyboard shortcut. There’s a blank entry under Bluetooth & Devices,” Microsoft says.

If you’re already part of the Dev channel, you can download the new build from Windows Update at this time.
