Windows 11 Build 22489 Now Available for Download

Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 preview build to users in the Dev channel, bringing the OS build number to 22489.

This new build comes with a new Your Microsoft account settings page that includes more details concerning the Microsoft account directly on Windows 11.

However, Microsoft says the rollout is happening slowly, as just a few users are getting it right now.

The brand new Microsoft account settings page includes details like subscriptions to Microsoft 365, payment details, Microsoft Rewards, and links to order details.

Further information is going to be added at a later time, Microsoft says.

“Over time, we plan to enhance the Your Microsoft account settings page according to your feedback from Feedback Hub via Online Service Experience Packs. These web based Service Experience Packs work in an identical way as the Windows Feature Experience Packs do, allowing us to make updates to Windows beyond major OS updates,” the organization explains.

More bug fixes and improvements

This new build also comes with plenty of improvements and bug features, with the company explaining that it decided to split the Apps & Features setting page into two different sections that are now called Installed Apps and Advanced app settings.

“In this build, you will observe links to Windows Update, Recovery as well as for developers underneath the main Windows Update Settings page. You will need to click Windows Update a second time to check for updates. The Recovery as well as for developers links shouldn’t appear under Windows Update in settings. These problems will be fixed inside a future build,” the company explains.

Other bugs, for example users the inability to search from the beginning menu, are still there within this build, and Microsoft says it’s still working on developing a full fix that would be issued to users out there at a later time.
